Analytical Solution for Wave Scattering by a Surface Obstacle above a Muddy Seabed

We present an analytical solution for the scattering of linear progressive waves by a surface rectangular obstacle above muddy seabed. The bottom cohesive mud is assumed to act as Newtonian fluid, and thickness layer considered be comparable Stokes boundary thickness. Our results based on matched eigenfunction expansions incorporate combined effects obstacles fluid bottom. By reducing or dimensions zero, study recovers classical wave solid bed propagation over mud. predictions amplitudes forces acting agree satisfactorily with available numerical results. most prominent effect seabed strong damping amplitude. Parameter reveals that submerged depth, thickness, frequency can have significant impacts attenuation amplitude due presence
